Questions & Answers with Linda, Karla, and Olivia
Q: Why did you want to become a dental assistant?
Linda: A friend who knew I always had an interest in the medical field asked if I’d ever considered dentistry, and then connected me to her endodontist friend. The rest is history!
Karla: I entered the dental field initially as a translator and interpreter at the age of 17. I’m bilingual in English and Spanish.
Olivia: I love helping people and I’ve developed a love of dentistry that goes right along with my love of helping people. I think it’s really important to do what you love.
Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
Linda: My favorite part of my job is changing people’s experience at the dentist. I genuinely care about listening and providing a kind, positive dental environment where most people are usually nervous, anxious, and scared.
Karla: My favorite part of my job is interacting with my patients and building relationships with them. I am really passionate about making people smile and helping them love that smile!
Olivia: My favorite part of working in dentistry are extractions and hygiene appointments. I can’t decide what I love to do more!
Q: What is something you would never do after working in the dental field?
Linda: After working in dentistry, I’d NEVER go to bed without brushing my teeth.
Karla: After working in dentistry, I’d never want to be in management. I like being where the action is happening.
Olivia: I will NEVER forget to brush after working in dentistry.
Q: What do you like to do outside work?
Linda: My hobbies outside of work include snow skiing, hiking, and biking. I love the views in the mountains. Experiencing nature through outdoor activities is exhilarating to me.
Karla: I really enjoy working with my hands. So, I spend a lot of time doing yard work and crafting when I’m not working at the office.
Olivia: I’m still in school, so that takes up most of my free time. I really enjoy the challenges it presents, but it can be frustrating at times too!
